Wall Mounted Displays Explained
1) Wall mounted photo & poster displays
Our wall mounted acrylic photo/poster frame displays are available in both metric and imperial sizes, ranging from A5 to A1 in our metric size range, and from 6x4 inches to 12x10 inches in our imperial size range. Clear acrylic front and back panels are supplied by default, but for most of our sizes you can choose to have a coloured back-panel. We also manufacture custom size frame panels for customers that require sizes that are not listed as standard.
What are wall mounted photo & poster displays?
They're used to display printed photos/posters by sandwiching them between two acrylic panels. To change the photo or poster after the display is initially mounted to the wall requires unscrewing the front/inner fixing of the clamps, which enables the front panel to be removed. Once removed the poster can be replaced and the front panel reassembled. The total amount of time it takes to change the poster is approximately three to four minutes. The acrylic panels have a 25mm or 30mm border on all four sides to provide clearance for the stand-off clamps, which also compliments the overall visual appearance of the display once assembled. You can mount this display type either portrait or landscape since the design isn't dependent on orientation.
Acrylic panels sandwiched together and mounted to the wall using our stand-off clamps:
The above photo is a close-up view, showing one of our wall mounted photo/poster frames when it's assembled. The display consists of one clear acrylic front panel, one blue coloured back-panel, and four chrome stand-off clamps. Our small clamps provide a 22mm stand-off, and our large clamps provide a 25mm stand-off. The stand-off distance is the measurement from the wall to the rear face of the back panel.
Small and large - chrome and satin - wall mounting stand-off clamps
Our chrome and satin stand-off clamps consist of two parts. The front part which is the smaller of the two has a male thread which screws into the back part's female thread. When assembling the display, you first need to mount the back part of all four clamps to the wall by drilling fixing holes and screwing the clamp backs in position. Next you carefully sandwich your photo/poster between the two acrylic panels whilst they're sitting horizontally. Finally you pinch the two panels firmly together, and at the same time offer them up against the back part of the clamps which are now fixed to the wall, and then screw in the front part of the clamps to securely hold the panels together and mount them to the wall.
2) Wall mounted easy access poster holders/pockets
Our wall mounted easy access poster holders are available in metric sizes only, ranging from A5 to A1 in both portrait and landscape. There are two slightly different designs, type 1 and type 2. Our type 1 pockets have 17mm wide flanges which contain clearance holes that are used to mount them to the wall by using four "Photo/Poster Frame & Easy Access Pocket Clamp". Our type 2 pockets have 10mm wide side flanges which are used to mount them to the wall by using four "Easy Access Cable Pocket Clamp - With Side Grip".
Wall mounted easy access poster holder with clearance holes - type 1:
The photos below show a side-view, an open-view, and a close-up view, of our type 1 pocket design. The pocket has a 17mm wide flange on either side, each of which has two clearance holes, one at the top, and one at the bottom. Four stand-off clamps are used to mount the pocket to the wall. The assembly procedure is very similar to the one used for our wall mounted photo and poster displays.
Wall mounted easy access poster holder using side grip clamps - type 2:
The photo below shows a close-up view of our type 2 pocket design. The pocket has a 10mm wide flange on either side. Four side grip stand-off clamps are used to mount the pocket to the wall. The assembly procedure is similar to the previous two designs, apart from both the inner and outer body of each clamp is assembled together before the acrylic pocket is moved into position.
Wall mounted photo/poster frames & easy access poster holder type 1 and 2 comparison
After initially mounting one of our photo/poster frames to the wall, changing the photo or poster later on does indeed take a few minutes, whereas when using our wall mounted easy access pockets, the poster is easily inserted into, or removed from, the sleeve of the pocket, which takes just a few seconds.
All three display designs are mounted to the wall using four stand-off clamps.
Our photo/poster displays have a 25mm or 30mm border on all four sides, partly to provide sufficient space between the clamps and the poster, and partly because having borders compliments the overall visual appearance of the display.
Our type 1 wall mounted easy access pockets have 17mm wide side flanges on their front face, which contain clearance holes for the clamps, and therefore a border isn't required.
Our type 2 wall mounted easy access pockets have 10mm wide side flanges which slot into the jaws of the side grip clamps, and therefore a border isn't required.
Our wall mounted photo/poster frame displays are more expensive than our wall mounted easy access displays, because they have panel borders which results in more acrylic being used, and the total manufacturing time to produce them is a little longer.
All three display types look fantastic and are similar to each other, but it's important to choose the style/design which is the most practical solution for your application.
